Gads, I hate those wheels. I can’t believe Porsche can’t do directional wheels. Yeah, L/R wheels are a pain in the ass. But if Mazda can do it in the 80s, Porsche should be able to do it all the time.

Very few cars with directional wheels still have them installed correctly... they are either rotated with the tires, or just installed slapdash anyway...
Frankly, as long as cars with directional wheels don’t have a right and left , going different directions on the same side of the car... that it at least something.
Subaru SVX had directional wheels, too, and are almost never installed in the correct direction.
If all else fails, at least TechArt Formula wheels are just as good looking, and radial, not directional.

This is true, and a very good argument for not ever doing directional wheels. It’s stupid and double
s everyone’s work.

Mazda could do it for 1986.

Subaru did it similarly, too.
When I had an SVX, I had a total of 9 of those wheels, two complete sets, plus a spare. They all went with the car when it was necessary for me to sell it, though.
And like the RX7, the wheels sweep forward when installed on the correct sides , not back.

Pretty much every time I see an RX7 with the baloney-slicer wheels for sale, they’re all pointed different directions. It’s embarrassing.
